METAMORPHIC ENTWINING
Metamorphic Entwining marks the path of meeting anger, judgment, aggression, and power, and watching how that charge transforms from fear into something you can bear. What begins as threat and contraction gradually becomes discernment: identity comes into alignment, and self-worth holds firm without hardening.
First comes the pressure of pronounced voices, opinions that fill the space and set the tone. The field tightens; fear and uncertainty look for footing, and anger rises as a protective surge. Then the work shifts: it opens. Self-worth returns, awareness sharpens, and the whole begins to relax, pressure tightening, then receding into something workable.
What initially appears as collision becomes clearer when it is named with precision. Rather than pushing away or escalating, space is made through presence and boundary. The charge can be acknowledged and held without surrendering truth; in this way, tension becomes usable, and the same signal turns into information, about values, limits, and what must be protected.
Where judgment lands, there is abrasion; where power presses, the space narrows; where fear lingers underneath, the body braces. Gradually, self-worth re-enters the frame and the work finds its measure, coherence without simplification: identity remains a fabric in motion, shaping itself through time.
Thus this unfolding becomes a form of identity formation: what is scattered organizes, personal values strengthen, and stability grows. Often acknowledgment is enough to let the charge subside; what feels fragmentary now may later reveal the line. In this way, flexibility matures into steadiness, grounded and attentive.

Each drawing sits in oak with a subtle wenge edge: a clear foundation with a dark counterpoint. Along the inner lip, the stains vary—olive, rosewood, cherry, bandi—not as ornament, but as links that pick up one another. The colors don’t blur; they stay distinct while moving in step. In this way, the frame echoes the series itself: what intertwines does not lose identity—it attunes.
